Chinese New Years celebration was in full gear in New York City. Chinatowns (Flushing, Lower East Side, Brooklyn, Elmhurst) were filled with festive people, lion dancers, dragons, lanterns and many more. Restaurants were crowded with families and were often time blessed by lion dance groups who would come and visit and perform. In the lower east side, Chinatown’s annual lunar celebration includes a parade. There will also be a Flushing New Years parade rivaling the celebration in Chinatown on the 12, beginning on 29th ave and main street, starting at 11am.
